SMU Conversational UX Spring 2019 Resources

CLASS DOWNLOADS

BOOKS:

  • Cathy Pearl, Designing Voice User Interfaces

He did a lot of the key research that most VUI design is built around.  The book is a quick read and very interesting.

This is a great introduction to the technology and background of speech recognition.

VIDEOS:

Roberto's 2013 talk to the International Computer Science Institute, Berkley, about the state of Speech Recognition.  A bit out of date but still a good introduction.

This is a really good general explanation of AI- very much a must-watch.  Except I believe for everywhere that he says "Product Managers" he should be saying "Designers" and "UX Researchers." :)
